On July 4,
2019, the EIT Climate-KIC - "Industry 4.0 technologies in mitigating
climate change" meeting was held at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
As Industry 4.0 we mean an inclination of
industrial automation aimed at integrating new production technologies to
optimize working conditions and increase plants productivity in quantitative
and qualitative terms.
The
meeting, organized by the University of Zagreb (UoZ), Novamina and TehaHUB, was
an opportunity to explore ways and means to integrate Industry 4.0 into joint
efforts for effective climate change mitigation solutions.
The event started
with a brief presentation of EIT Climate-KIC about the purpose and topics of
the meeting and then practical examples of Industry 4.0 application were
provided.
Ecodom
showed the digitalization features of the InnoWEEE project in Italy and UK,
presenting also how to tackle the low collection rates of small WEEE.
All the
presentations provided starting points for an interesting final discussion
among the participants.
