On Saturday 12 June 2021, thanks
to the InnoWEEE project, in synergy with the Merezzate+ project (also funded by
the EIT Climate-KIC), an awareness-raising and small WEEE collection event was
organised for the citizens of the REDO Merezzate neighbourhood of Milan.
The initiative took place in
cooperation with Amsa, the company that manages the collection and disposal of
urban waste in the city of Milan, thanks to their Mobile Environmental Centre
(CAM), a mobile recycling centre where it is possible to bring small WEEE and
other types of waste (used oil, batteries, toner, etc.).
During the whole morning citizens
had at their disposal the CAM where they could dispose of their waste, and
Erion and Amsa experts to whom they could ask information about WEEE and its
proper disposal.
Thanks to the communication work
carried out by the partners of the Merezzate+ project, it was also possible to
reach the citizens of the neighbouring districts, as well as the REDO Merezzate
district, thus increasing the success of the event.
About a hundred deliveries
were made of small WEEE (vacuum cleaners, printers, hairdryers, mobile phones,
fans, etc.), batteries, light bulbs, toners, oils.
