The Digital
Green Weeks represent the 5 steps of a virtuous path conceived by ECOMONDO to
guide the green economy community towards the new scenarios of the ecological
transition. The event was an opportunity for the InnoWEEE project to present
the results achieved and organize a virtual round table in which the
representatives of the InnoWEEE partners (companies and research institutions)
took part, together with distinguished guests from the WEEE supply chain and
from the world of sustainability.
The works
of the Webinar, entitled "Innovations for the ecological transition: the
value of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment", took place on
Thursday 20th May 2021 under the coordination of the environmental
sociologist, Marina Kovari, and involved
the WEEE Coordination Center (with the president Bruno Rebolini), Utilitalia
(with Andrea Brandolini) and Legambiente (with Andrea Minutolo). The debate stemmed
from the results of the project highlighting the actions planned by the PNRR,
which in Mission 2 involves the "construction of new plants and
modernization of existing plants for recycling and closing the waste cycle with
the production of raw materials secondary".
Together
with Giulia Degli Esposti of Dedagroup Public Services, Marco Tammaro of ENEA, Antonella
Castellano of Erion and Elisabetta Farella of FBK, the development and
application of new WEEE recovery models was discussed focusing on how to reduce
waste in production, make more effective and efficient waste collection and
support actions for reuse and preparation for reuse.
The discussion, among the speakers, was enlivened by the
numerous questions from the audience, who largely participated to the
initiative.
